Foxgloves

June 24, 2016
Despite my bad luck with foxgloves as detailed below, I'm trying again, mainly because they were free from a friend.
These were planted in the street bed where they will get morning shade and afternoon sun.

Planted these along the driveway. They came as bare roots. They never came up.

When I told SpringHillNursery.com that the above Foxgloves never came up, they sent free replacements, but this time in pots.
I planted these in a different spot - in the back yard.
Because we get critters rooting in the mulch back there, I put chicken wire down to protect them and covered it with mulch.
Foxgloves spread by dropping seed, but they will not spread if the mulch is too thick, so come seeding time, I'll rake off the mulch.
Update: These came up but did not reseed.
